A Lazy Sunday, Then the World of Coca-Cola, CNN, and Olympic Park

Sunday brought some needed down time to our hectic days so far. After church and lunch the girls headed over to Rosemary's antique store she shares with some other people for some shopping, while Granddaddy took all three of my kids to Cheetam Hill for a hike. After church in the evening we had to eat dinner, and since we had yet to visit Marietta's famous landmark, The Big Chicken, it was an obvious choice.
After a moment to catch up on the news, it was time for Konner and the rest of us to head back into Atlanta for another day jam packed with fun.

Our first stop was at the World of Coca-Cola. This is a museum all about Coca-Cola, it's products and it's history. It was very cool! We saw artifacts, had our pictures with the Coca-Cola bear, watched a 3D movie about the 2010 World Cup, explored the process of how it is bottled, and much more!! One of the best parts is that they have a room full of soda fountains so that everyone can taste test all of their products from around the world. Each continent has it's own set of flavors and delicacies. There are 64 different products to taste test. Jason and I are proud to report that we made it through all of them! I had quite a sugar rush by the end, and Jason did some burping too, bust we discovered some yummy ones, and others that reminded me of toothpaste - yuck. At the end of the tour every guest gets their own bottle of Coca-Cola to take home. Their gift shop was also great and we brought home more than our fair share of gifts from there.

After a warm lunch outside we headed across Olympic Park to the hotel where CNN has one of their headquarters. We got to take a behind the scenes tour of CNN that was very informative and fun. We weren't allowed to take pictures though because we were there while they were broadcasting. After the tour we haded back to Olympic Park to see if we could locate our brick there. The park was made as part of the attractions associated with the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. We have a brick, with the Wilcox family names on it. With some help from a lady in a booth and a lot of staring at the ground we were able to find the brick. We weren't able to find Grandmother and Granddaddy's, but it was getting close to dinner time, so off we went. After enjoying some Mexican at a local spot we had just enough time to squeeze in one more thing. Want to take a guess?? Of course, one last dip in the pool! It was our last night in Marietta and wanted to make the best of it.
