The Schooling Begins

Kyler is officially a preschool student! Today was Kyler 's first day of preschool. He is going to be going Monday through Thursday from nine to noon. It is a nice treat for him AND the babies who get to play without his pestering for a while. It is located at the school where I work and is part of an ROP (Regional Occupational Program) class. (I was able to have someone cover my class for me so that I could go over and snap a few pictures.) If you ask him how it went today, you won't get much of an answer. He said they did nothing, of course. But here is what I could get out of him. They had goldfish and apple juice for their snack, he got to play on the castle on their mini playground, one teacher's (high school student's) name is Madison, and he told another kid, "There's no crying in preschool." (That last part I got from a little bird who told me.) So even though nothing happened, he said he would like to go back tomorrow. It's a little weird sending him somewhere where I don't know everything that is going on. I guess I am just being sentimental (what will I do when he goes to college!), but he is now grown up into a real "big kid." And I couldn't be prouder!

Date Night

Last night just Jason and I got to go out on a date. A friend at work let us buy her season seats off her, so the kids were dropped at Grammy and Granddaddy's and off we went. We had a fun time even if the Angels lost.
Best part was what we got to come home to - three bathed and sound asleep kids.

Boys Night Out

This past Monday Jason really wanted to go the the Angels vs. Yankees game. So he bought some tickets and invited Uncle Jeremy and Kyler to tag along. They had a great time. Kyler entertained the crowd around them by repeating everything Jason yelled, they all did the "Jeremy" dance the Vlady's intro music, and Kyler and Jason both downed an ice cream sandwich each. That night when I asked Kyler if he had fun, he sleepily replied, "I got see." I was so confused I needed clarification in the morning. He said the best part of the game was fireball winning the race, he picked C and it was right (for the attendance quiz, I then "got it"), and oh yeah, the Angels won too! I made Jason bring the camera and asked him to take a few pictures. Jeremy obliged by taking pictures of EVERYTHING, so here are a FEW of the good ones. Now we just need to arrange a "girls night out."

I thought I'd share how my kids were winding down this evening. We have a fun house, huh?

Happy Grandparent's Day!!

We have a lot of grand and great people in our lives and to show them just how much we love them we gave each of them a small gift. I thought it might be fun to show everyone all the love and effort everyone put into the production of the little pictures frames and gift bags.
(Here's the picture we put in each of the frames.)
Happy Grandparent's Day!

Football, Family...

Yes, Fall is here! With school back in session it was time to once again to get our Friday night football fix. The guys mostly go to watch the game, I mostly go to watch everything else and the kids mostly go for the popcorn and M&M's (thanks Grandpa, Grammy and Granddaddy). It's a nice night out. It was nice and cool and nice to catch Grandpa up on all the kids been up to.
On Saturday night we got to spend some time with Jeremy, Amanda and Juliette. Jules is growing so nicely and it was nice to catch up with Amanda for a little while. Despite my three being VERY tired (way late and too short naps), we had a good time, ate some yummy frozen yogurt and even got some cute pictures.
I just LOVE family time togethereness.

A Non-Labor Day

I started back to work last week, so after 5 whole days of work I was ready for a break! We had our picnic at the park with our church family like usual. The food was all yummy, I tried out two new recipes (I do love kraftfoods.com). The kids ate ALL day long, a nice change from our sickiness the last week or so. We played games, visited, baby Jules (and Jeremy and Amanda) were able to join us, and to boot the weather was PERFECT. We had a great time and the kids, after leaving a dirt ring around the tub, slept like logs. Nice.

Sometimes...

It's nice to just hang out in the backyard.
