Baskets, Dressing Up, and Hunts

Easter is baskets of goodies in the morning, dressing up in our finest coordinating outfits, heading to church, and going over to Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Fox's for the traditional egg hunt in the afternoon. The kids have filled eggs to hunt for and each adult has to find their own egg with their name on it. Kassidy and Konner have decided that they can only "get" particular colored eggs for themselves and simply pass on the others. For Kassidy, only pink and purple eggs make it into her basket, for Konner, just the green and orange ones - silly, huh? After egg hunting they played a little hide and seek - Konner might need to work on his hiding skills a bit! They all have so much fun, nap on the way home, and then it is off to church again. A wonderful family filled day!

Easter Eve

With a lot of family around who love us a lot, we have to spread out our Easter get-togethers. On Saturday we headed out to Aunt Wendy's to hang out with me side of the family. We played at the park, had an egg hunt, ate a wonderful dinner, and Konner and Kassidy got an early birthday present from Kelly and Dan who asked them to be in their wedding next summer. Check out all the fun we had!

Eggs

We like to do things at the last minute sometimes, so it being the day before Easter we decided we better get our eggs all colored up. Nothing fancy this year, just three eggs each in whatever color they wanted. (Many thanks to G-mama who always boils our eggs whenever we ask!) Here's the kids doing their stuff.

Not Enough Room

Sometimes being a twin is hard. There is just so not enough room on my lap!

The Training Wheels Are Off

Hidden in the back of Gramma's garage has been a bike. When she recently cleaned it out, she said it would be better for us to have at our house for Kyler. He really wanted to ride it, but it is a little big, and more importantly does not have training wheels on it. So I know we are a bit behind the curve on this one, but last Saturday was the day Kyler said he was going to learn how to really ride a bike. We tried one wheel for a few minutes and then just decided to go for it! He was riding back and forth in front of Grammy and Granddaddy's for a bit, when Grammy decided to help him all the way around the block. It took a while for them to reappear, but he was doing well. It was then time to go for broke. We took him out to the dead end and let him go. It was amazing! He did sooooo great. He didn't fall once, was able to correct himself and balance, and just kept going around and around! In the span of a half an hour, he went from four wheels to just two. I was so proud of his determination and his beaming smile just says it all.

Swing Time

The last storm coupled with years of sun, rain and lawn watering did our swing set in. When the canopy shredded a month back, we realized we had to buckle down and get a new (and safer) swing set. I scoured the internet for just the right one and then my job was over. Daddy, Granddaddy and Uncle Jeremy got to take the reins and over two Saturdays (and Jason putting in extra time during the week after work), plus three trips to Home Depot, it was all done! The kids love it and play on it every afternoon. When can you come over to play? Before - yikes!During construction...(check out the job foremen!)All finished!Kid approved!

Fun with the Fish

Last Thursday, the twins got to tag along with Kyle, Crystal and Malino to their trip to the Long Beach Aquarium. (The rest of us were hard at work and school!) They got to have the run of the place, checking out the fish, the scuba diver in the big tank, the sharks, the rays, the birds, the list goes on! Crystal and Kyle braved the afternoon without a stroller (not that they would have stayed in if it was there) and let the kids enjoy all the sights and exhibits. Take a look at their fun afternoon. They must have had a great time because Crystal (good thing being the driver and all!) was the only one awake on the way home. It is great that the kids can have a good time even when mommy and daddy aren't around. Thanks Crystal and Kyle!!!
