Kennesaw Mountain and the "Home of the Braves"

Friday was jammed packed with fun. In the morning we headed out to Kennesaw mountain to check out the Civil War battle site and visitor center. We met Rosemary at a favorite eating spot, The Whistle Stop, for a lovely lunch. We got to eat some fried chicken, some really good biscuits, and watch the toy train go around and around the establishment. Konner would say, "Bye, bye, choo-choo" every time it would pass by. After a lovely time, we headed out to another battle site, to take a little stroll. We were not exactly sure how long the trail was and a thunderstorm was threatening on the distance, so it wasn't as long as a walk as we had planned.

Our plan for the evening was to take in a Braves game. They had been on a hot streak lately (and I am not referring to the weather, although it was quite warm even late in the evening - check out Kassidy's sweaty hair!) and that night was no exception. We watched the beat the Detroit Tigers and their star reliever get his 400th career save. We stayed for the fireworks show after the game which put us home pretty late. The kids were pretty tired and were out before we hit the freeway. I must sat that sleep for Jason and I did not come so easily. When we got back home, the air conditioning unit for the room above the garage we had been staying in was broken. It was a warm evening and I am not sure we got a lot of sleep. Thankfully, Don and a lovely neighbor installed a new unit the next day while we were out. You have never seen a more appreciative Fox family!
