Loopy L Day

The letter L! For our big event of the day we headed out to the library. Kyler has never really "been" to the library before, so it was a nice treat. Best part, Kyler is now the proud owner of his very own library card! We checked out the kids section, played with a few puzzles, and made a few choices. We were lucky enough to included in our selections Look, Look, Look and (appropriately) L is for Library. Then it was time to do lunch so we headed over to Long John Silver's. After some errands we were able to have a nice lazy afternoon.

Things we also learned:

Foods we eat- lemons, limes, lollipops, licorice, lasagna

Things around us- lamps, lights, lions, lawn, legs, lips, laptop, Lightning McQueen, Lego's

Activities we do- lounge, leap, lunch, laugh, love, lift, look

Kooky K Day

The letter K! After our swimming lessons (another blog on that later) and lunch today we decided to revel in all things beginning with K. Our first stop was Kmart to pick up a kite and a kickball to play with later at the park. Then it was over to Krispy Kreme for a little treat. For Kyler's first time flying a kite, he (with Grammy's expert assistance) did a fairly good job. There wasn't much wind to work with, but we got it up a few times. Meanwhile Konner and Kassidy had fun kicking a ball around. We had a great day and topped it off with lots of kisses.

Foods we eat- kiwi, kettle corn, ketchup

Things around us- kittens, kazoo, keyboard, keys, kids

Activities we do- kite flying, kick balls, kayak, kiss

Joyful J Day

The letter J! Kyler thought it would be a good idea to spend his day with Josh and Jesse two of his best pals from church. They came over right before lunch so we took a jaunt, sometimes jogging, over to Jack in the Box. Lunch of Jumbo Jacks and jumbo fries was yummy. When we got home Josh and Jesse helped Kyler fill practice writing his Js and played in the backyard for a while. I am told there was some jumping and jiggling going on. To end their visit they helped Kyler color his pages on the computer. Before bed we even squeezed in a few jigsaw puzzles.

Things around us- jets, jelly fish, jigsaw puzzles

Activities we do- jump, jog, joke, jibber jabber, joyride, joust, juggle

Incredible I Day

The letter I! We began the day appropriately with a breakfast at IHOP. Kyler and I then decided to take a try at ice skating. Grammy strapped the monkey and bear backpacks on the babies while we took exactly two spins (read slow crawl/drag along the wall) on the ice. Before dinner we picked up an ice cream cake for Granddaddy's birthday. At dinner out the kids even got to help Granddaddy with his complimentary birthday ice cream sundae at the restaurant.

What we also learned:

Places we go- IHOP, IMAX theater, Islands, ice skating rink

Foods we eat- ice cream, ice pops

Things around us- iguanas, insects, ink pad

Activities we do- ice skating, itch, iron (well some people do!)

Hearty H Day

The letter H! We went out to breakfast with Grammy, G-mama, and Preston. We of course included hotcakes, hash browns and ham to eat. Later in the day the kids had the chance to visit some horses and everyone got to even go for a horseback ride. Konner and Kassidy weren't sure at first, but they warmed up to it. We tried on some fun hats, Kyler cut out a heart all by himself, and we gave lots of extra hugs today. We even ate hot dogs for lunch and hamburgers for dinner.

Places we go- hotels, home, hospitals, horse stables

Foods we eat- hash browns, hotcakes, ham, hot dogs, hamburgers, hot tamales

Things around us- houses, hearts, hats, hands

Activities we do- horseback riding, hockey, hugging, hopscotch, hoeing the garden

Great G Day

The letter G! It was a day filled with grandparents and goodies. We first drove out to Great Grandmother's and ate a snack of grapes with her. Kyler found a pair of gloves to play with. We found some Greek food to eat for lunch and feasted on gyros. We then went to Great Grandpa and Great Grandma's house for a nice visit and some dessert. After a dinner of grits we met the rest of the grandparents (those we could round up) - Grammy and Granddaddy, Gramma, and G-mama at Golden Spoon. G-mama even brought Kyler a "goodie bag" with Goldfish Grahams and suckers, green ones and a grape one. Good times.
