Zany Z Day

The letter Z! We have reached the end, so it was of course time for a trip to the zoo! We decided to take our trip to the LA Zoo. Of course we had a major focus on zebras today (it was Kyler's favorite), but there were so many other great things to see. The gorilla exhibit was awesome and the giraffes so cool. Kyler loved the big fat hippo, the tigers and the lions. There were some cool alligators including Reggie, a celebrity around here. The meerkats, kangaroos, and the koala were cute. Kyler was obsessed with the map the whole time, following our progress on it, making sure we didn't miss anything. Kassidy got tons of practice using her sign language all day long. Konner was just chilling most of the day (a nice alternative to the needy other two). Kyler got to take home a zebra of his own - he even named him Zeke. It was a zoopendous day! After a photo op with our very own zebra back at home it was off to bed to catch some Zs.

Things we also learned:
Places we go- zoo, Z pizza
Foods we eat- zucchini
Things around us- Zamboni, zebras
Activities we do- zig-zag, zip

Yummy Y Day

The letter Y! For starters, our morning snack was to eat some yogurt (of course with a yellow spoon). Then for lunch we ate at Yoshinoya. We then just had to top it off with some dessert from Yogurtland. As luck would have it we parked next to a bright yellow car, so I borrowed it for a picture backdrop. Kyler tried his hand at a yo-yo. No tricks yet - we're still trying to master winding it up! Before bed we had did a little yarn craft activity and had dessert again (!!) - a York peppermint patty.

Things we also learned:
Places we go- YMCA, Yoshinoya, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Yogurtland
Foods we eat- yogurt, York peppermint patty
Things around us- yarn, yo-yo, yachts, yard, yearbook, yellow jackets, yellow pages
Activities we do- yawn, yodel, yelp, yell, yoga

Xciting X Day

The letter X! X is a hard one, so we did what we could. Kyler did a little xylophone playing this morning. After lunch we went to the Bellflower courthouse where Kyler's backpack took a spin on the x-ray machine. Then we found some X-Men figures to buy and fight with. When we got home we went on an adventure around the neighborhood to find some Xs. We found several and have included their pictures.

Things we also learned:
Things around us- x-ray machine, X-Men, xylophone

Wonderful W Day

The letter W! WOW, what an amazing day we had today. We started out our day with a breakfast of waffles. For lunch we all headed to Wienerschnitzel. Then it was a quick stop at Wal-Mart to pick up some snacks and water for our next activity. We headed down to Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach. After walking around the wharf for a while checking out the sites, we boarded a whale watching cruise. It was wicked awesome! We got to see lots of sea lions, dolphins, and three blue whales. One pair was a momma and her calf, that once got at close as 20 yards to our boat. We could see them under the water, they were swimming so close to the surface. It was a once in a lifetime experience! After dinner Kyler enjoyed a Whopper treat for dessert while (of course!) sitting on the washing machine.

Things we also learned:
Places we go- Wal-Mart, Wienerschnitzel, Walgreens
Foods we eat- waffles, Whoppers, water, watermelon

Victorious V Day

The letter V! Various activities were scheduled today in honor of the letter V. Kyler, Kassidy and Konner spent the morning with Emily playing a little volleyball. Kassidy of course dressed in a violet colored dress, which matched perfectly with some violet letter Vs Tami and Kyler cut out. For lunch we went to one of our favorite burger joints - Volcano Burger. (Oh so yummy fried zucchini.) Later in the afternoon we got to visit with our cousin Van. The boys were playing so nicely, they just couldn't stop to have a nice "together" picture taken. For dinner we of course had vegetables with our pasta. After church Kyler vacuumed his room before everyone got to enjoy a vanilla ice cream treat.
